Starting with only a few shapes in the middle, this expanding landscape represents my interest in abstract patterns and compositions as well as fractals. I’ve created a contrast between the outer, rock-like patterns, and the inner organic patterns. There is an overall organic, almost cellular look to this piece, but interpretations are open to the viewer.
In the second piece, I utilized gradients to mimic and represent the inside of the body, and brighter pinks and off-whites to highlight points of pain and how it spreads in the body. The overall composition looks almost like a heart but can represent the body as a whole.
In the third piece, the colors mimic that of low tide waters, and the shapes represent under sea creatures and coral reef landscapes. There is a dream-like quality in the way the highlights blend in with the background to further abstract the composition.
