Illustrating and designing a section of Philadelphia has been one of the most fun and expressive projects during my time at Drexel. The intent behind the map project was to create a map highlighting points of interest in the Philadelphia area using a unified system and method of navigation. While researching this area, I found a lot of different cultures and enclaves of peoples who inhabited this area. My main focus is a modern Mexican restaurant and taking inspiration from murals in the area for the design of the map, I illustrated a colorful, hand-drawn map using flowers to pin-point locations and their intertwining stems to direct and guide viewers. The whole map encompasses the history and groups of people that have lived there and what they have left behind. Created on Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
